I
began
riding at the Skidmore College stable as a community student when I was
ten years old. I have spent my life learning about horses and
riding, and how
the body works, and how the mind works the body. I have competed
on
the east coast in Hunter as well as Jumpers venturing in to Dressage
and Eventing. I have worked with trainers like Michael Matz, Max
Gahwyler, Eric Horgan, Isa Alvarado and great teachers like Sally
Swift, Peter Paine and Susan Harris. I learned to be a
well-rounded
teacher by being a well-rounded student.
Taught
at Skidmore College in Saratoga, New York and Ethel Walker School in
Simsbury, Connecticut. I helped open a facility called R.E.D.
Equestrian Center in Coventry, Connecticut where we built the first
recognized cross country course in the state.
I
pride myself on my
understanding of multiple disciplines and feel my
understanding allows me to help focus the horse and rider to an area
that best suits the combination.
I got
my Equine Studies degree at Cazenovia College in Cazenovia, New York. I
am certified by the American
Riding Instructor’s Association as a Level II Hunt Seat Instructor
and a professional in good standing with the United States Equestrian
Federation, and the United States
Hunter Jumper
Association.
I
have recently begun to
pursue my judge’s card. Currently, I am
available to judge schooling and local member shows.
